A mother and daughter have taken on the Brave the Shave challenge and have raised more than £700 for charity.

Kate and Sue Connell shaved their hair all in the name of charity, with the proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Sue’s daughter Kate said that shaving her head has always been on her bucket list.

“Kaz from Kaz’s Cuts Barber Shop in Whitchurch was kind enough to shave both mine and my mum’s hair for free and her colleague on the day was generous enough to donate all her Saturday wages,” said Kate.

Several of the mother and daughter’s family and friends turned up on Saturday, September 15 to show their support of the ladies.

“Donations have come from everywhere including friends, family, colleagues from Cheshire police, customers of Kaz’s Cuts – who kindly donated to the money box I had left there – people from The Beech Tree art class and staff from Barlows and Benjamin’s in the high street - all very generous and very much appreciated,” continued Kate.

“So far the total is more than £700 and continues to grow, but there is still a chance to donate.”
