Derwen College has received a cheque from St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation for £79,171 for the College’s fundraising campaign for the Therapy and Fitness Centre project.

This generous donation has almost completed the fundraising target for new Hydrotherapy Pool as an integral part of a new Therapy and Fitness Centre allowing the College to start raising funds for a new Gymnasium as the final phase of the new Complex.

“As always we are delighted and pleased to receive such a generous donation towards our fundraising," said Meryl Green, principal of Derwen College.

"The Therapy and Fitness Centre project is an exciting development for the college and one that will create huge benefits for our students now and in the future. We would like to pass on our thanks to the St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation for this donation and for their visit to the College.”

“Derwen College is an impressive specialist facility and we are delighted to be able to support such an important development of the facilities at the College, helping to ensure that the specialist needs of the student are met and will have a positive impact on their lives at the College and beyond,” added Mark Longbottom, head of St. James’s Place Charitable Foundation.

Derwen has been also been raising funds locally towards the new Hydrotherapy Pool and this will continue next year for the gymnasium.
