A LIMITED number of free tickets to a commemorative World War One concert have been made available for veterans.

Mold Town Council will be commemorating 100 years since the end of the First World War by hosting a commemorative concert at Theatr Clwyd.

At the start of the concert - which will take place on Sunday, November 11 at 7pm - there will be a tribute to the soldiers from Mold and the surrounding villages who lost their lives during the war.

The evening will be a reflection of the music and dance enjoyed throughout the decades following the end of the First World War from 1920s up to modern day with performances from Flint Male Voice Choir, RAF Cadet Band, The Cavernites Beatle Tribute band, The Good Night Sweethearts, tribute to Frank Sinatra/Rat Pack, Elsber Dance, Angie Parker, winners of Mold’s Time2Shine and more.

The concert is in support of the British Legion ‘ThankYou100’ campaign which is asking people to be thankful to all those that fought and lived through the first world war.

A spokesman for Mold Town Council said: "To quote the British Legion - it’s time to say thank you – 100 years ago the guns fell silent on the world’s first truly global war.

"We believe it is time to think about all of those who lived through this tragic and remarkable time and who put Britain on the path to becoming what it is today.

"It’s time to say thank you for what they did for us.

"On the evening there will be photographs of military personnel from Mold and the surrounding areas who fought in the First World War and Mold Town Council would like to thank Flintshire War Memorials and Mold Squadron Air Training Corps for their assistance with this exhibition.

"Mold estate agent NewHome4U have kindly purchased 10 tickets for the concert which are available, free of charge, to local veterans as a thank you for their service to our country."

The complementary ticket offer from NewHome4U is available only through Mold Town Council office, or email supportofficer@moldtowncouncil.org.uk

Tickets for the concert are now on sale at £20 per person and can be obtained direct from the Theatre Booking Office at www.theatrclwyd.com or from Mold Town Council office on the first floor of the town hall in Earl Road.

Alternatively tickets can be bought from Vaughan Davies on the Cross, Mold.

All proceeds from the concert will go to the British Legion and Mayor’s ‘Save a Life, Make a Difference Appeal’.
