PLANS to build homes on the site of a former public house have been submitted.

A planning application received by Flintshire Council requests permission to build two pairs of semi-detached three bedroom homes on the site of the Calcot Arms in Milwr Road, Holywell.

The materials will match those of the Calcott Arms, a design and access statement explains.

It adds: "The development is located on the site of the car park of a derelict public house that has been closed for over ten years.

"The intention is to merge into the site without any visual conflict with its neighbours.

"The houses have been designed to avoid interrupting the view of the estuary from the properties in Windsor Drive."

A separate application has also been made to change the use of the Calcot Arms to create three apartments with on site car parking - but no further details are available with these plans as yet.
