A SEARCH was carried out following sightings of red flares in Flintshire.
Flint Coastguard Rescue Team confirmed that just before 9.15pm last night that it was advised by the UK Coastguard of three red flare sightings in the River Dee between Greenfield and Mostyn.
After the informants verified what they had seen, a thorough search of about one-and-a-half hours was carried out from Greenfield to Mostyn.
Nothing untoward was found, the coastguard spokesman said.
It was decided the report was a call with good intent and that the team could stand down and return to station.
