‘WE ARE behind you!’

This was the message sent out to the Ruthin Panto Society by all those who attended its annual fundraiser party at Ruthin Castle to help raise money for its 2019 performances.

The pantomime society, which was established in 2012 to provide affordable, family-targeted entertainment in the town, has staged recent productions such as Aladdin and Robin Hood at its home the Theatre John Ambrose in Ruthin.

The society won this year’s Ruthin Town Council’s annual ‘Ruthin Community Group of the Year’ award.

The annual fundraising party, organised by Ruthin-based party organiser Let’s Play Parties, was a royal-themed children’s and family party hosted by Ruthin Castle in its Grand Salon – the perfect venue for princes and princesses.

Debby Morris, deputy general manager at Ruthin Castle, said: “Ruthin Castle was delighted to be asked to host this event and were only too keen to continue support of the Ruthin community.”

Dave Snape, treasurer for Ruthin Panto, said: “Ruthin Castle have been such a great support to us since we begin in 2012. Our main aim is to provide affordable family orientated entertainment and the fantastic ongoing support from Ruthin Castle helps make this possible.

“Our annual fundraisers help make up the annual shortfall in funds but helps us to achieve our aim. We couldn’t do this without Ruthin Castle’s assistance.

“It was great for so many people at the children’s party to be able to access such a beautiful resource as the Castle.”

Ruthin Panto will next be performing Beauty and the Beast for which Ellie has recently been cast as Belle. Performances will take place from February 28 to March 2 next year and will include a Saturday matinee.
