ONE of Wales' most distinguished politicians, Leanne Wood AM will be visiting Bala to discuss her vision for Wales ahead of a party leadership election.

The Plaid Cymru leader will hold an open meeting at the Plas Coch Hotel in Bala to hear the views of people in the area and respond to her recently published pamphlet titled ‘The Change We Need’, which lays out a “radical agenda” that focuses on ensuring ‘decisions affecting Wales are made in Wales’ on issues such as education, enterprise and democratic reform.

Speaking on the upcoming open meeting, Leanne Wood said: "This is an opportunity to share ideas and listen to the voices of people in this area. My ambition is to lead the Welsh Government following the next election. But the Welsh Government must listen to the views of people outside of the Cardiff Bay bubble.

“We all have a stake in Wales' future, wherever we live in Wales. Penllyn and Edeirnion have played an important part in our history and has an important part to play in our future.

“I look forward to sharing my ideas with the people of this area and listening to their opinions."

Amongst those in attendance will be Dilwyn Morgan, county councillor for Bala and Plaid Cymru member. He said: “There are a lot of people talking about the meeting on the high street.

“It is an opportunity to hear and take part in a conversation with the leader of Plaid Cymru.

“Whatever party you support or whoever you support I would still encourage everyone to come along and see what she has to say.”

The meeting will be held on Thursday, August 23 at 2pm.

Anyone can attend.
