Smiles were all around at Caereinion High School as students celebrated their A Levels results and getting into their first choice university.

Headteacher Iona Davies said Caereinion students achieved "very pleasing" A level, BTEC and Welsh Baccalaureate results.

A total of 82.8% of students gained two or more grades at A* to CΒ

This year, a record number of Caereinion High School Sixth Form students won entrance scholarships to various universities.

Ms Davies said: β€œIt is gratifying to note that almost all students have secured their first choice of Higher Education institution.

"High standards have been maintained at all levels, resulting in students reaching the necessary standards to pursue the path of their choice at the next level.
