There will be a little bit of 1920s glitz and glamour coming to Oswestry next month with Whittington & Oswestry Young Farmers Club's 'Great Gatsby Casino Night'.

The event will be held at Oswestry Rugby Club's Granville Park on September 8 and will be the annual fundraiser for the club, marking the end of the Drew Eccleston's chairmanship as well.

The event is all-ticket and will begin at 7.30pm onwards for an 8pm start with the club raising money for their selected charities Shropshire Rural Support, Lingen Davies Cancer Fund and Midlands Air Ambulance.

The tickets cost £15 per person, which will included a professionally run casino, some 'fun' money to use at the different tables, a welcome drink and an assortment of puddings.

There will also be a raffle to help raise more funds for the three charities.

Guests will be asked to bring a touch of glamour to the event and to dress sharply.

The clu8b is looking for anyone, whether it be individuals or companies, who are willing to donate prizes for the raffle.

Anyone who wants to donate high-level prizes for the raffle should contact the club via their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/whittington.oswestryyfc/

Details of future events across the coming year for the clyub will also be detailed, and you can also contact them via message to discuss membership and social event opportunities.

The club is celebrating a recent successful presence at Oswestry SHow where they had a space-themed tent and organised the hugely-popular tug-o-war event.
