An Oswestry woman has reached a milestone and has raised £100,000 for charity.

Sandra Speck has been hosting line-dancing classes in and around Shropshire for over ten years, and has now raised a milestone £100,000 for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

Incredibly, following her most recent donation of £15,700, Sandra has now reached over £100,000 to the lifesaving charity, which is enough to fund 40 vitally important missions.

Each year, Sandra hosts a one-day charity event, where line dancers from across the country come to take part and raise money for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. In addition to this, she has an annual sponsored line dancing show, as well as raffles each week at her classes.

For her support Sandra was recognised as Fundraiser of the Year at Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s Recognition Awards and Charity Ball in 2017.

Sandra said: “I couldn’t have raised this much money on my own. My dancers are truly amazing! Year after year we all dig deep and support Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. One of the ladies who dances with me was in a head on road traffic collision 10 years ago, and was airlifted by the charity with multiple injuries. It was a miracle that she survived, and is still dancing now.

“Since then, we’ve raised funds for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and have never looked back.”

Maria Jones, regional fundraising executive for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “Sandra has been an avid supporter of the charity for so many years, and for her and her supporters to reach such an incredible milestone donation is wonderful. We’re so appreciative of her efforts, initiative and drive, a big thanks to her and her dancers from all of us at the charity!”
