AN ELDERLY man was led out by firefighters after a hedge fire spread to a home.
Firefighters from Oswestry Fire Station were called to reports of a hedge fire at Fitzalan Close, Babbington at 3.45am on Saturday.
A spokesman for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said: "This was a fire involving hedge that had spread to the property. A 74 year old man was escorted out of the property and led to safety by fire service personnel.
"Crews used two breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and one 45mm jet."
