A budding shepherdess from Meifod will star in a BBC One programme about her life farming in Snowdonia.
27-year-old Teleri Fielden has been given the opportunity of a lifetime - to run a 600-acre farm on the foothills of Snowdon for a whole year.
She is the winner of the 2018 Llyndy Isaf Scholarship, a scheme to help first-generation farmers - those who won’t inherit a farm - to get a foothold in the industry.
Not only will she care for the stock of Welsh Mountain ewes and a herd of Welsh Black cattle, she’s also tasked with maintenance and repairs on the farm.
With only her dog Roy for company, the One Lives: Snowdonia Sheperdess programme, follows Teleri as she copes in one of the toughest and most physically-demanding farming environments.
Lambing, sheep shearing and selling stock at auction, the 24-hour-a-day job is a challenge for anyone.
In the harsh mountainous conditions, and in a traditionally-male world, Teleri discovers if she has what it takes to secure herself a future in farming.
Our Lives: Snowdonia Shepherdess will be shown on Monday, August 13, on BBC One at 7.30pm.
