TNS now know their opponents in the next qualifying round of the Europa League – if they can overcome Lincoln Red Imps tonight.

FC Midtjylland from Denmark lost the first leg of the Champions League tie 2-1 to FC Astana – and last night's goalless draw means it will be the Kazakhstan side who will remain in the competition.

FC Midtjylland drop into the Europa League and will play either Saints or the Gibraltar club.

Saints go into tonight's tie leading 2-1 from the first leg.

A clean sheet for TNS would see them come up against the Danish champions next Thursday at their 'home' ground of the Cardiff City Stadium.

Ruscoe said: “FC Midtjylland are a very good side and one we’ve come across before, so we do know a little bit about them.

“They’re an excellent club who are getting everything right from the bottom up to the very top. We’ll have to be at our very best to compete with them if we do manage to get through.

“They’ve had some nice European runs and a lot of people will remember when they beat Manchester United a few years back, so we know they’re a great side.”

FC Midtjylland have been crowned champions of Denmark twice since they were formed in 1999, and are quite familiar with European qualifying rounds, having competed in more than 60 competitive Euro ties.

Past qualifying rounds has seen them come up against Manchester City, Southampton and CSKA Moscow.

They made the first knockout round of the Europa League in 2016 where they faced Manchester United and recorded a 2-1 victory in the first leg before losing the tie overall.
