RESIDENTS are being warned to be aware of a recent email hoax.
Action Fraud, the UK's national fraud and cyber crime reporting centre, confirmed last week it has received almost 700 reports about an email that threatens to harm people if they don't pay up.
North Wales Police cyber crime team stated yesterday it has had three reports about this type of email and warned recipients not to pay.
Action Fraud has warned the public to delete any such emails. If anyone has received a hoax email and paid they are advised to contact police on 101.
