A PERCUSSION firm has offered its backing to an annual music event in Mold.

The British Drum Company is this year helping to ensure the North Wales Blues and Soul Festival goes with a bang by providing two drum kits for use at the event.

Formed in September 2015, the British Drum Company brings together industry-renowned master drum-maker Keith Keough with Kasabian’s drummer Ian Matthews and award-winning comedian and drumming aficionado Al Murray.

Discussing the sponsorship, Charlie Broadhurst of Event Sound, one of the North Wales Blues and Soul Festival’s organisers, said: “We are delighted to have British Drum Company as a sponsor.

"It’s great to be able to offer such high calibre musicians the option of great sounding drum kits and British craftsmanship.

"It represents our commitment to make the North Wales Blues and Soul Festival the very best for musicians and audience alike.”

Mel Stewart, drum set division manager of the British Drum Company, added: “British Drum Co was founded by passionate musicians – professional or otherwise – who wanted to make the best quality drum kits possible accessible to a wider audience.

“We believe the highest calibre drums should be accessible right from grassroots local bands to stadium-filling stars, so we’re very pleased to be able to support the festival in this way.”

Established in 2014 the North Wales Blues and Soul festival regularly attracts crowds of more than 2,500.

This year’s line-up is led by James Hunter – a soul singer revered by critics in his native UK and Stateside.

Other acts already confirmed include 1940s-inspired The Revolutionaires, YouTube sensation Chris King Robinson, Kiwi band Brilleaux and home grown North Wales band Delta Radio.

The festival will take place on Kendrick's Field in Mold from August 3 to 5.
