GARDENING enthusiasts will gather for an event that raises funds for a children's hospice.

Plant Hunters' Fairs will return for an event at the British Ironwork Centre near Oswestry on Sunday, July 29, with entrance donations going to Hope House children's Hospices.

Martin Blow, of Plant Hunters’ Fairs, said “It’s been a fab summer and we’ve all been making the most of our outdoor space. Now’s the time to pick up some late flowering plants to perk up our beds and borders and fill the garden with scent.

"The event will have a brilliant line-up of top nurseries who all grow their plants themselves, so they can offer advice on choosing the best for your particular garden. Our fairs at this spectacular venue have raised well over £5,000 for Hope House and we’re looking forward to adding to this on Sunday, July 29." there There will also be advice and information stalls from Shropshire Organic Gardeners, Shropshire Wildlife Trust and the National Garden Scheme.

The event will also have tea, cake and hot food on offer as well. There will be free parking right next to the fair and dogs on leads are welcome.

A spokesman for the centre said: "Please do bring the kids as the centre is full of quirky attractions to thrill and entertain them."

The fair runs from 10am – 4pm. For full details of nurseries attending, www.planthuntersfairs.co.uk
