MUSIC lovers enjoyed a performance from a renowned choir at a charity concert.

A packed audience at Holy Trinity Church Oswestry gathered to hear the world famous London Welsh Male Voice Choir, on its first ever visit to Oswestry, give an outstanding and innovative concert performance.

The show raised £3,400 to be divided between Macmillan Cancer Support and the Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund.

The choir was joined by guest soloists Samantha Lewis mezzo soprano and guitarist Jack Hancher.

They sang a variety of Welsh, English and even Swahili, and received a standing ovation at the end.

Concert organiser Haydn Jones said: “Thank you to Edward-Rhys Harry conductor, Annabel Thwaite accompanist, the guest soloists and accompanist Gerry Howe, local businesses for their donations and to the wonderful audience”.
