RESIDENTS have been urged to have their say on health and other community issues at a forthcoming meeting.

A public meeting will be held at Weston Rhyn Institute at 7pm on July 2 to discuss matters including the Future Fit consultation.

Gobowen, Selattyn, St Martins and Weston Rhyn Local Joint Committee has arranged the meeting, which will be attended by health chiefs including Dr Julian Povey, clinical chairman for Shropshire CCG.

Shropshire councillor Robert Macey, chairman of the LJG, said: "This will be a key opportunity for local people to raise any questions or concerns they have around health services in the area.

"We hope residents of all ages, young and older, including families and parents of local children in surrounding areas will attend to hear more. This promises to be a real chance for the community to feed their comments to us as local members, parish councillors and representatives of the health and community sector locally. If health services are important to you and your family we hope that you will attend.”

The meeting will allow of the community opportunity to raise any questions or concerns that they may have for the area in which they live.

As well as key agenda items, this Local area meeting offers an opportunity for residents to raise issues that matter most to them and their area and to hear more from local stakeholders on projects developing in the area.

This will include the latest from those providers commissioned to deliver youth activities and any safety issues attendees wish to raise with your West Mercia Police.

The LJC will welcome the new sergeant for Claire Greenaway, of West Mercia Police's North Shropshire team, who introduce herself to the committee and residents.

This can be a very local item, an item relating to a local group, organisation, school, or may relate to specific questions around safety or crime for example.

The meetings are overseen by a panel of councillors from local parish councils and Shropshire Council.
