Whitchurch Young Farmers Club have given their unique spin on promoting a county-wide event next month.

The group, which is open to all young people whether they are farmers or not, have posted a video on their Facebook page with members advertising what is coming up for the Shropshire Federation of Young Farmers Clubs' main event of the year.

The Shropshire 2018 Rally will take place in Alberbury at Coppy Farm, courtesy of kind permission of Davies family, on July 7.

But Whitchurch through they would lend a hand in helping to promote the event by producing a video that's in keeping with the club's enthusiastic approach to everything they undertake.

It begins with a member rolling down a hill dressed as that traditional countryside fare – a lobster – in order to introduce the viewer to proceedings.

Then a 'skier' in a Christmas jumper, a 'sunflower' and plenty of other members join in to tell the viewer what's happening at the rally, where there will events, a barbecue and is recognised as n official social.

The video participants explain there will be events and competitions throughout the day such as 'welly wanging', sandcastle building, and many, many more.

There's even time for a Christmas joke – see the video for all its glory – before some visual examples of what happens at the rally though the wind gets the better of the sound.

Meanwhile, the Three Counties Show, held in Worcestershire, saw some success for a Whitchurch YFC member in the stock judging.

Colm O'Neill achieved the success and the club posted on Facebook: "Our very own Colm O’Neil came second in the Open intermediate dairy Stock Judging on Saturday at the Three Counties Show! The rest of the Shropshire team also got placed too!"
