Police are currently blocking Artillery Road in Park Hall as it is believed an unexploded bomb has been found at a site in Park Crescent.
The suspected shell was discovered this morning and Police say that the Bomb Disposal Team is currently on the way.
Residents have been told to stay indoors.
A spokesperson from West Mercia Police said: "Police were informed at about 9.20 am today that what is believed to be an old wartime shell was found at a site in Park Crescent in Park Hall in Oswestry.
"Explosives Ordnance Disposal have been contacted and will attend the site to dispose of the item safely. Incident 0141S of 180618 refers."
A similar incident occurred earlier this month when the Bomb Disposal Team were called to the same site.
