RESIDENTS at a care home have been busy planting crops in their vegetable garden with help from garden centre.

The residents from Berwick household at Chirk Court have created a vegetable section and they are looking forward to harvesting some tasty items to add to meals later in the year.

Mandi Southern, activities co-ordinator at the home, which is managed by Clwyd Alyn Housing Association, said: "Paul Bryan, manager of Moreton Park, the local Wyevale Garden Centre kindly has been really brilliant, supporting the residents by generously donating some plants for the initiative.

“Some of our residents have been keen gardeners for many years and we wanted to make sure they can continue their love of gardening here too. "We’re hoping that Paul from Moreton Park will be able to join us four our own harvest celebrations later in the year and see some of the lovely garden areas, for both flowers and fruit and veg, which the residents are looking after.”
