TV PRESENTER and walking enthusiast Julia Bradbury is encouraging people to join Bowel Cancer UK and Beating Bowel Cancer’s Walk Together this summer to save lives and improve the quality of life for all those affected by bowel cancer.

The charity hopes people will organise a sponsored walk in their area from July to September. It’s a perfect opportunity to bring people together to show support for those undergoing treatment, remember loved ones and raise funds to help stop bowel cancer.

Julia is Bowel Cancer UK and Beating Bowel Cancer’s Patron and co-founder of walking site The Outdoor Guide.

She said: "Every year, 41,800 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer in the UK, including my mum who thankfully is now recovered. Physical activity plays an important part in stacking the odds against a bowel cancer diagnosis and as passionate walking advocates The Outdoor Guide and I are delighted to fully support the charity’s Walk Together. It’s a lovely way to bring everyone together affected by the disease from all “walks” of life!”

Bowel cancer is the second biggest cancer killer in the UK, and yet it is treatable and curable especially if diagnosed early. Nearly everyone diagnosed at the earliest stage will survive bowel cancer.
