Students sitting GCSEs saw their exams interrupted this morning when Llanfyllin High School was evacuated due to a fire alarm.
However the school confirmed that "everyone is safe" and that lessons were back to normal shortly afterwards.
A statement from the school said students and staff were evacuated from the building while the fire service attended, and confirmed that students sitting exams would not be disadvantaged by the interruption.
"Following a full inspection, the fire safety officer for Mid and West Wales fire service declared it was safe to re-enter the building. Everybody is safe and lessons are running as normal," it said.
"There was an interruption to the exams as the whole school was evacuated and could only be let back [in] once the fire service gave the go ahead - Regulations set out by JCQ/Exam Board for these scenarios were followed and the relevant exams boards will have been contacted to make them aware so that special consideration will be applied when marking the papers - All students sitting exams this morning would have been given the full time allocated to sit the paper."
