Rotary Club members have given a cash boost to students embarking on a renowned awards scheme.
Oswestry Rotary Club has donated £400 to Derwen College students who are starting the Gold Award in the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme.
The donation will be used to help cover the cost of the two expeditions and one residential activity that the eight Gold Award students must complete as part of their challenge.
The college also has students taking part in the Duke of Edinburgh’s Silver and Bronze Awards.
Derwen College has earned a reputation for delivering outstanding provision and has been judged ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted on three consecutive inspections.
Derwen College was shortlisted for two awards in the national TES FE Awards 2018 for Specialist Provider of the Year Award and Employer Engagement Award.
