A MAN was released from a vehicle and taken to hospital following an early morning collision.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service received a call just before 4am this morning (Thursday) reporting a single vehicle collision in Coedpoeth.

Two fire crews were sent to the scene, where firefighters used cutting tools to release a young man from a car.

A spokesman for the Welsh Ambulance Service told the Leader an emergency ambulance and a rapid response vehicle were sent to the incident, which occurred in Ruthin Road.

One man was conveyed to Wrexham Maelor Hospital, the spokesman added.

North Wales Police also advised motorists that the A525 between Coedpoeth and the A483 was closed while emergency services dealt with the situation.
