Pampered pooches and handsome hounds will be celebrated at a special dog show in Chirk.

The Boathouse at Chirk Marina Dog Show aims to raise hundreds for the North East Wales Search and Rescue (NEWSAR). NEWSAR is a volunteer Search and Rescue (Mountain Rescue) Organisation operating in north east Wales and mainly covers the counties of Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy, Wrexham, Powys and parts of Wirral and Cheshire.

Dozens of dogs and dog lovers are expected to descend on the Boathouse Restaurant and Activity Centre in Chirk from noon on Monday, May 28 for the exciting event which will give the local top dogs a chance to go head to head to win a host of rosettes; kindly sponsored by local company Kronospan Ltd.

A range of awards will be given including to the cutest gal, coolest guy, best veteran, best pedigree and dogs with most appealing eyes and best ears, plus there will be an exciting competition for the fastest sausage eater.

Run by the Beastly Thoughts Professional Dog Services team, who are largest dog training club in the Wrexham/Oswestry area, it should prove to be a fun event.
