Borderland Rotary Club welcomed Lady Trevor at the Sweeney Hall to talk about an ambitious plan to create a patient’s garden at the Orthopaedic Hospital in Gobowen.
Horatio’s Garden, a concept originally developed at Salisbury Hospital, is being billed as a ‘Place to heal’ for spinal injury patients at the hospital.
It will have all the services available on the wards with electricity and oxygen, and will be divided into bays so that families can have time alone with their loved ones. There will also be a garden room and a children’s play area.
Bunny Guinness, well known as a panellist on Radio 4’s Gardeners Question Time will head up the design team. The project will cost £675,000 of which £500,000 is already in place.
Lady Trevor’s passion for the project was moving if anyone wishes to learn more about the project, just search for Horatio’s Garden online.
