THE 21st anniversary of Borderland Visual Arts is celebrated with a new exhibition as part of the packed programme accompanying the opening for the new season of the Mid Wales Arts Centre galleries at Caersws.

With a preview to open it this Sunday, March 25, the BVA exhibition ‘Nexus’ illustrates an important connection between the parts of a system or a group of things.

Open to all, the preview is between 3 and 5pm and includes chances to meet some of the artists as well as enjoy live music and refreshments.

Borderlands Visual Arts is a thriving network of 59 artists, living in and around Oswestry and the Welsh borders, established in 1999. Their diverse exhibition spreads into the Arts Centre’s Sculpture Hall.

This is the first time BVA have exhibited as a group at Mid Wales Art Centre, although a number of the artists have taken part in other shows including the ‘Open Exhibitions’.

This exhibition, on until April 29, includes a variety of media; paintings, prints, textiles and sculpture. Most of the works on display are for sale.

Sunday also provides an ideal chance to explore new developments at this exciting venue which will include the opening of a new Children’s Sculpture Trail on the Easter weekend, and an ‘Inspired in Caersws’ Festival of Music, Poetry and Arts, in association with the Fair Acre Press. on April 21 and 22.

The festival will include workshops and performances. Full details can be found on the midwalesarts.org.uk website and at fairacrepress.co.uk/inspired-in-caersws-festival
