A CELEBRATION of 35 years of work in the Powys arts scene by Powys Dance will be staged at Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon, this Friday, March 16.
The 'March/Forward' show is the first of a number of community dance events in south and north Powys over the next few weeks.
Working across age groups, social backgrounds and abilities, Dawns Powys Dance have inspired more people to enjoy taking part in and watching dance and
Tonight they present an evening of community dance to celebrate work created by participants who attend the weekly dance sessions throughout Powys with groups of all ages and abilities sharing their passion for dance.
On Wednesday and Thursday, March 28 and 29, The Hafren at Newtown host the Cored Cymru free Family Dance Festival.
They will present a selection of Wales’ most exciting dance companies during the Easter holidays. In an entertaining and jam-packed one-hour programme, you’ll get to see four short pop-up dance pieces, including the award winning National Dance Company Wales’ new work 'Animatorium' which premiered at Green Man Festival 2016.
The event is free and suitable for all ages. Performances are at 2 and 6pm on the Wednesday and at noon and 3pm on the Thursday.
On Saturday and Sunday, April 7 and 8, it is Theatr Brycheiniog’s turn to host the Family Dance Festival.
Pupils aged 11 to 18 from a number of schools including Presteigne's John Beddoes Campus, Llandrindod High School, Builth Wells High School and Brecon High School, will be performing in the South Powys Dance Festival at Theatr Brycheiniog, on Friday, April 20.
