Weather update: Powys was returning to normal today as the snow and ice began to thaw.

The Met Office predicted there will be further outbreaks of rain, sleet and hill snow through this evening, but these will become more isolated towards dawn. Fog, frost and ice are likely, and the wind will be light. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

The country had been plunged into Storm Emma chaos after heavy snowfall resulted in travel disruption and all schools were closed on Friday.

Only three schools were listed for closure on Monday for health and safety reasons on the Powys County Council website at 7pm on Sunday: Llandrindod High School; Ysgol Pennant and Brynllwarch Hall School.
