Snowfall and bitterly cold temperatures set up snowy scenes across Powys and the UK, as Storm Emma arrives.
South Wales and parts of South England have been issued with Red weather warnings, the most severe, while Yellow and Amber snow, wind and ice warnings are in place for the rest of the UK as temperatures remain below freezing.
People have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel as severe delays are expected on roads, rail and air.
Flights have been cancelled at London, Glasgow and Newcastle airports and Arriva Trains Wales say rail travel in Wales will close down early this evening.
