KNITTERS in Newtown are giving their backing to the first ever St David’s Day Festival in Newtown this year and are stitching together daffodils to raise money for the Marie Curie charity.
Knit and Natter Newtown is an informal knitting club for knitters (and crocheters) of all levels who enjoy working on their own and joint projects, who enjoy a chat and being able to help each other to achieve their knitting and crochet goals and have some fun.
At the beginning of March they will be celebrating their second birthday. They started with five members and have now grown to 35 active members and 86 members on the FB page Knit and Natter Newtown.
This year they have raised more than £2,000 for cancer charities by holding knit and natter stalls selling items the ladies have knitted, selling items from their Facebook page and holding fundraising events.
Their next stall will be at the Kerry Craft fair on Saturday, March 31, when they will be selling their famous Creme egg cosies and other Easter / Spring themed items.
