Oswestry Library welcomed more than 20 players of all ages to its Board Games Cafe last weekend.

The gathering, which is becoming a popular event, encouraged 24 competitors to try something new and take part in a range of games from traditional to the more modern.

Some of the games available included Da Vinci Code – The Game, Biblios, and a German inspired board game, Das Orakel.

Visitors to the free drop-in event were also treated to some scrumptious refreshments served up by the Oswestry Guide Dogs team, with profits going back to the charity.

And they also took along some of their four-legged friends, who also enjoyed their Saturday afternoon at the library.

The first event was held last autumn to coincide with International Games Week and proved so popular the library staff decided to bring it back for another fun-filled afternoon for the whole family.
