The GREAT Malpas Bake Off will be back once again this year after the organising committee confirmed it will take place.

The cookery extravaganza, in aid of the Village Fair on July 14, takes place on Saturday, March 17 at the High Street Church.

A St Patrick's Day theme has been chosen as the competition to coincide with the celebratory day and there are various different categories for children and adults. Entry forms are available from shops around Malpas.

Beverley Dobson, one of the event organisers, said: "The Malpas Bake Off is in its fourth year and is going from strength to strength.

"Those competing age between three and 93 and the quality of the entries are exceptional – there is an amazing amount of talented bakers.

"The four group winners are given aprons with 'I won The Great Malpas Bake Off 2018' and the runners up receive a chef's hat.

"We as a committee thoroughly enjoy organising the day."
