Staff at an Oswestry supermarket have raised almost £2,000 for Hope House Children’s Hospices.

The town’s Morrison signed up the charity’s Business Challenge last year and were tasked with turning an initial £50 into as much money as they could to help support local children and their families.

During the past 12 months the Morrisons team has taken part in a number of fundraising activities from canal walks to challenging themselves to take on the world’s fastest Zipwire at Zipworld, Snowdonia. They have also undertaken a number of instore activities from bag packs, raffles and donations in lieu of Christmas cards, and raised £1905.60.

“Everyone at Hope House would like to say a massive thank you to the team at Morrisons for the dedication and enthusiasm they have shown when taking on our Business Challenge,” said Lynsey Kilvert, Hope House fundraiser, “Every year Hope House reply on our amazing community to support us and raise monies to enable us to ensure that no family suffers the death of a child alone.”

Hope House would like to thank all the staff and customers at Morrisons and give a special thank you to the canal walk team.
