A fast-growing local sports equipment retailer has celebrated success after being crowned winner at a prestigious regional business award.

Wrexham business, Net World Sports, has fought off competition to bring home the title of ‘Business Exporter of the Year’.

The Business Exporter of the Year award was presented to Net World Sports at the 2018 FSB Wales Celebrating Small Business Awards.

There, the ‘crème de la crème’ of Welsh business celebrated their success in an award ceremony in Cardiff.

The ceremony recognised innovation, enterprise and the accomplishments of the small business sector, with all award winners going to the UK final in London at the start of May.

Net World Sports, which is the UK’s biggest-selling football goal manufacturer supplying more than 100,000 of its FORZA goals a year worldwide, reached the finals of the ‘Business Exporter of the Year’ category after impressing judges with annual sales growth of 70% over the qualifying period,

with the firm’s average profits growing even quicker during the same timescale.

The company’s continuing international sales success was also rewarded with a place on the shortlist for the ‘Scale Up Business of the Year’ prize.

The sports supplier will now go head-to- head will now go on to compete at the UK Awards, which take place in May, to see if they will be crowned as the UK’s Business Exporter of the Year.

The award win is the latest in a string of such success for Net World Sports, which is the only UK business to currently appear in all three of the most recent Sunday Times Fast Track 100 league tables ranking sales, profitability, and exports.
