Staff at a pre-school nursery on the outskirts of Whitchurch are celebrating after winning a top accolade last week.
The Park Pre-School, in Iscoyd Park, were crowned ‘Nursery of the Year’ at the annual Wrexham Childcare Awards on February 2.
The Wrexham Family Information Service had recently visited the setting and told them about the awards, suggesting parents to nominate them, leaving manager Nicci Fiddy delighted.
"All of the teachers at The Park were so humbled and shocked to have been shortlisted," she said. "One week after being told five of the staff members attended the awards at Glyndwr University in Wrexham.
"The time came for the ‘Nursery of the Year’ Winner to be announced and our very amazed and surprised teachers of The Park collected the award.
"Only five teachers were able to attend, so a huge thank you to the other staff members who could not make the event; Lynn Jones, Corrina Stockton, Sonia Scholes, Katie Brown and Siobhan Taylor. Another huge thank you to all of our supportive parents."
