ROADS in and out of Llanfair Caereinion Town Centre were closed for up to three hours on Thursday evening (February 8) as Firefighters tackled a fire at the local chippy.
Crews from Fire Stations from Welshpool, Montgomery and Llanfyllin joined their colleagues from Llanfair Caereinion to tackle the chimney fire at the Llanfair Fish Bar, at around 4.30pm.
In heavy rain hydraulic ladders were used by Firefighters to deal with the incident and commuters were warned that they faced possible delays driving through the town.
Emergency services had left the scene by 8pm.
