Concerns have been raised over the state of a children’s playground.
Aruna Kudaligama saw smashed drinks bottles and rubbish strewn across the play area next to Caia Park Surgery when he took his children Sanuka, nine, and Sanuli, 11, to play there.
In a letter of complaint to Wrexham Council, he said that the facility was “unsafe for children to play.”
He added: “There were lots of empty and smashed liquor bottles and rubbish everywhere.
Mr Kudaligama, of Dale Street in Wrexham, said he did not understand why authorities were “unable to take any action”, as there is a street CCTV camera by the park.
“I wonder why these people spoil the area which is allocated for children,” he added.
“It was not the first time I have noticed it. It is a common sight from the footpath of the field. I have also noticed some people are not keeping their dogs on a lead.”
Cllr David A Bithell, Wrexham Council’s lead member for the environment and transport, said: “Our officers have now cleaned up this play area which is inspected on a weekly basis.
“Unfortunately this type of anti-social behaviour is happening in other areas at the moment and I encourage anyone who sees such behaviour to report it to 101.”
