Fitness fanatics in Whitchurch can head to a new destination after the gym at the town's Hill Valley were upgraded.

The Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf and Spa, which is on the edge of the town, has invested in state-of-the-art leisure facilities which allow users to transport their cycle training to the Italian Alps and all in time for users to keep up their New Year health kick.

Abi Evans, leisure manager at Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf and Spa, says the company are already looking forward to guests using the equipment.

As part of ongoing spa and leisure upgrades, Macdonald Hotels & Resorts, the UK’s largest independent hotel group, is in the process of a £2.5m investment programme at 16 Vital Health and Wellbeing Clubs across the UK.

The modern facilities already on offer at the Macdonald Hill Valley Hotel, Golf & Spa will be fitted with the latest gym technology from renowned health and training brand Life Fitness.

The new gym technology includes SPARC Trainers for high intensity interval training which are engineered to be gentler on joints encouraging users to work harder by reducing their perceived exertion.

The suite will also have both the SE3 interactive cardio machine and PowerMill Climber which have easy to navigate start-up screens as well as integrated video streaming and internet compatibility.

The new equipment is supplemented by the Life Fitness’ SYNRGY station - it enables members of all abilities to train independently or in a small group using eight unique training spaces, including dedicated areas for suspension training – creating an exciting environment for Circuit and High Intensity Interval Training.
