Firefighters in Shropshire are urging homeowners to ensure their chimneys are swept.
It follows a series of fires in the first few days of 2018.
A spokesperson for Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Our advice is to have your chimney swept regularly, at least once a year.
“Your chimney must be kept clean to prevent fires and structural damage to your property. Always use seasoned wood.”
