A charity tractor pull will be rolling into Ruyton XI Towns once again this weekend.

The annual fundraiser – which is now in its fifth year – has so far raised more than £38,000 for Hope House Children’s Hospice and The Severn Hospice in Shrewsbury.

And organisers are hopeful that this year they will smash that total with a target of £20,000.

Gary Penton, from haulage firm Pentons, said competitors come from as far afield as Scotland and Somerset.

He added: “We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our sponsors because without them we wouldn’t be able to stage such an event.

“We would also like to welcome anyone else wishing to help sponsor this year’s event.”

This year’s tractor pull is being held at The Broadlands Farm in Baschurch by kind donation from R. and J. Slater on Saturday and Sunday.

Admission prices are £7 per day for adults and children over 12 years of age. Under-12s go free.

Weekend tickets are £12 for adults and children over 12 years of age, while entry to the Saturday night live music entertainment costs £5.

Camping and caravanning is available but booking is advisable.
