WEST Felton carnival returns for its 23rd year on Sunday, July 13 and this year promises more fun, more floats and a day that the entire village and people from miles around can enjoy.
The day is started off with the parade and this year’s carnival queen and king, Sarah Roberts and Joseph Bevan, will be leading the procession of decorated and themed floats as they travel through the village from the Punch Bowl pub, heading to the village playing fields on Tedsmore Road. The parade will start at 1pm.
Every year the top floats are judged and the best is announced the winner of the show. Last year’s show saw the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang float crowned the winner for the children’s floats.
But the fun doesn’t stop with the floats. The village playing fields will be lined with family entertainment to keep everyone happy throughout the afternoon, including music, dance, crafts, side shows, demonstrations and treats. See this week's paper for a full spread of pictures from the carnival.
