Ramsey (Isle of Man) 7
Oswestry 24 (away bonus point)

OSWESTRY started the game with real intent and from the kick-off the forwards applied intense pressure on the Ramsey team, the ball was turned over and then moved wide at the very first opportunity with a try narrowly missed due to a dropped pass.
This pressure was maintained for the next 20 minutes and quick rucks and several phases put together resulted in two tries scored by Mike Davies and Andy Smith with Dan Williams converting.
The highlight from the first half was a mammoth team effort in defending within their own 22m line for 22 minutes without conceding any points.

Communication and organisation were a real force in gameplay that prevented Ramsey crossing for any points at that stage.
There were strong runs from Andy Smith, Mike Davies and Tom Keaveny and back play was very direct from Andy Merrett and Gaz Hughes, therefore providing an effective platform for support runners to play off.
The second half started a little slower with Ramsey having more possession to begin with.
Oswestry lost composure on the 60th minute resulting in a try being conceded with a chip and chase kick behind the backline.
Substitutions were made on the 62nd minute where Rich McFie and Tom Treasure made positive impacts.
Oswestry then woke up and dominated scrums and lineouts throughout, resulting in a well worked try out wide for Luca Owen-Youens to cross for an unconverted try.
Oswestry’s centre was yellow carded with six minutes left for being too aggressive at the breakdown, however, this seemed to fuel the Oswestry team to defend with more determination which prevented another try being scored by Ramsey.
Man of the match was awarded to young Luke Roberts for an outstanding display both in the tight and loose play throughout the game.
