OSWESTRY Olympians triumphed in races held over the festive period, with Ian Lowe taking the win at the annual Ellesmere Cold Turkey 5K on December 30.
Simon Barkley and Tim Tansley also finished in the top ten, while Julie Davies was a creditable third in the ladies section and 14th overall in a race that involved 28 competitors.
Then in the Morning After Fell Race held in Church Stretton on New Year’s Day, Oswestry runners shook off the effects of welcoming in 2013 to achieve a double win.
Paul Jones, fresh from breaking the M40 club record at the Telford 10k before Christmas, was victorious, with Ali Lavender the first lady home.
Ian Lowe also had a strong run to finish fourth against 180 runners.
