WARRICK Fynn led the way with his third century of the season as Oswestry increased their lead at the top of the Birmingham League Division Three with a winning draw against Penkridge – the team which started the day in second place.

Fynn hit 105, including 12 fours and a six, as Oswestry rattled up 241-6 declared in 53.4 overs, and he received good support from skipper Mark Robinson (42), Clint Brockman (34no) and Alex Huxley (30).

Rain reduced the Penkridge innings to 25 overs, and they never looked like reaching their winning draw target of 148.

After a tight opening spell by Jonathan Miles, Ian Davies (3-23) and Fynn (3-29) picked up the bulk of the wickets as Penkridge struggled to 89-7.
Oswestry took 17 points from the game to Penkridge’s four, and Robinson’s side went into Bank Holiday Monday’s home game against promotion rivals Aston Manor with a 24-point lead in the table.

Oswestry Seconds’ game against Shifnal Seconds at Morda Road was reduced to 25 overs a side, and Oswestry came off second best.
Shifnal blasted their way to 177-3, and Oswestry could muster just 96-6 in reply – despite a defiant 43no by skipper Steve Humphreys.
Oswestry Thirds and Fourths both had their games rained off after making a start.
The Thirds had reached 110-6 against Shifnal Thirds, with James Bradbury hitting 32 and Ashley Roberts 21.
And the Fourths were 58-4 against Ludlow Fourths when the heavens opened, Keith Sadler having made 18.

This Saturday Oswestry Firsts will be looking to keep up their title challenge when they face bottom-of-the-table Coleshill at Morda Road (12 noon).
The Seconds visit Water Orton, and the Fourths are at Calverhall.
The Third XI take on Trysull and Seisdon at Morda Road on Sunday (1pm).
