The New Saints of Oswestry Town’s Sam Finley has joined Conference side Wrexham FC on loan until the end of the season.

A product of the Everton academy, the midfielder joined Wrexham at the eleventh hour last night (Monday) and will now spend the remainder of the with Kevin Wilkin’s side.

Finley, 22, was the Welsh Premier League Young Player of the Year last season but injury problems have restricted the tenacious midfielder to only eight Corbett Sports Welsh Premier League appearances during the current campaign.

Wrexham manager Kevin Wilkin said: "I’m glad it’s all done and Sam will offer us something different in midfield to what we already have got.

"Obviously Carl (Darlington) has worked closely with him, helped bring him through and given the player a strong recommendation.

"Hopefully, he will bring something different to the midfield area."

The Liverpool-born Finley will be available for selection when The Reds travel to Nuneaton Town on Saturday.
