HUNDREDS of people lined the streets of Welshpool on Bank Holiday Monday for the annual Carnival parade.
The usual attractions were on show as the parade, led by Welshpool Mayor Cllr Steve Kaye came through the centre of the town.
It ended up on Maesydre fields where the crowds enjoyed the day.
Cllr Kaye was delighted with how things went and described it as a successful weekend for traders, as it coupled with the Welshpool Music Festival.
He said: “It was brilliant, the crowds were big, they were five deep on the main street when we came through.
“It was a fantastic effort to organise it, credit to Heather and Ffion in the town council office.
“On the day we received a £1,000 donation from Tesco to the carnival committee, which we were very grateful for.
“It keeps growing and getting better and it will do, the day was a cracker.”
