AN OSWESTRY supermarket has been targeted by metal thieves three times in one week.

Lead flashing was taken from the roof of Aldi, on Beatrice Street overnight on August 21 and 22. The supermarket was targeted once again by thieves in the early hours of August 26, between midnight and 6am.

The shop is currently under renovation to extend the entrance and work is expected to last for another couple of weeks.

An Aldi spokesperson said: “We are currently assisting the police with their inquiries. Our schedule for the renovation work remains on course and at this point it would be inappropriate for us to comment any further.”
