Police are appealing for witnesses to step forward

A WOMAN carrying a bag of cash to a bank in Oswestry was thrown to the floor and robbed last week.

The woman was on her way to the Post Office Bank on Cabin Lane at 10.30am on Saturday, July 26 when she was pushed to the ground from behind.

An orange Sainsbury’s bag containing a large amount of cash was stolen from her.

Police want to speak with a potential witness – described as a woman in her 70s or 80s – who was on her way into the Co-operative on Cabin Lane at around the same time.

The offender is described as a white man, wearing a grey top, who left the scene in a white van heading away from Cabin Lane up Greyfriars.

Anyone with any information should call West Mercia Police on 101, quoting incident number 29OS of July 26.
